Transnitria (MD)

I was so happy and surprised to get this beautiful postcard. Until I write this blog, I still don't know if TRANSNITRIA is an independent country or just part of a country. So I googled Wikipedia and found out some facts about it:
* Transnitria is a breakaway state located  mostly on a strip of land between the River Dniester and the eastern Moldovan border with Ukraine.
* Transnitria declared its independence in 1990 and after the War of Transnitria in 1992, it is governed as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR, also knows as Pridnestrovie) a state with limites recognition that claims territory to the east of the River Dniester.
* Transnitria is designated by the Republic of Moldova as the Transnitria autonomous territorial unit with special legal status.
* Transnitria, together with Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia are post-Soviet "frozen conflict" zones.
Nastia who sent this card said to me that they use their special stamps and postmarks to send mails inside Moldova. But outside Moldova, they use Moldovian stamps.
